A Romantic Wedding in Williamsburg | Scott & Carolyn

Filed in: Weddings

Scott & Carolyn officially joined their lives in matrimony amongst a backdrop of spring florals, surrounded by beloved family and friends. Their ceremony and reception were held at The Maine of Williamsburg, a breathtakingly beautiful new venue in Williamsburg, Virginia.

The mood was calm when I walked through the stone entrance of The Maine. Tracy, the Maine’s Chief Operating Officer, joyfully welcomed me. I was highly impressed with Tracy’s professionalism and the accommodating atmosphere of the Maine. The venue was also stunning. All white walls (a photographer’s dream!), a beautiful indoor/outdoor working fireplace, two suites for getting ready use, wood-beam ceilings, and lovely white draping were just some of the attractive features of the space.

Carolyn and her bridesmaids were relaxed when I entered their suite. Soft chatter and calming music filled the room. It was the perfect vibe for getting ready for the day. Scott, on the other hand, was reserved, counting the moments before seeing his bride. Despite his nerves, his eyes were bright. He was ready to see his bride

An Intimate Occasion
The ceremony was held on a covered patio outdoors. It was chilly, but guests huddled together for the short service. The officiant, Caitlyn, prepared a touching, personal speech for the couple. It was both moving and funny, capturing the unique bond that Scott & Carolyn share. The two were all smiles as they lovingly exchanged rings and vows before their friends and family. It was perfect.

After the ceremony, Scott & Carolyn returned to a private suite to repeat their vows. Caitlin wasn’t legally allowed to marry them, so they had a quick private vow exchange in the suite with another officiant to make the marriage official. I have never experienced this before, but it was a lovely moment. Carolyn looked at Scott with so much love; it was such an intimate and sacred moment.

After the ceremony, the reception was full of dancing, laughter, and joy. These two were made for one another, and everyone supported them. They ended the night with a petal toss in the exact location of their ceremony. It was the perfect day for the perfect couple.

Scott & Carolyn, I wish you two a lifetime of happiness! You were made for each other.
